FAQ
Answers to the questions we get most.
For young workers
- How old do I have to be?
- PocketChange is built for young workers ages 13–17. A parent or guardian must approve your account and every job.
- How do I get paid?
- The homeowner pre-funds the job in escrow. When it's marked complete, funds are released to your parent-linked payout account.
- Can I choose my own jobs?
- Yes. You browse jobs and request the ones you want. A parent approves before it becomes official.
For parents
- How do I link my child?
- Your young worker generates a one-time linking code in their dashboard. You enter it in yours. Codes expire in 24 hours.
- Can two parents share oversight?
- Yes — up to two approved parents per young worker.
- Can I revoke a job I already approved?
- Yes, any time before the job starts. Both the worker and the homeowner are notified.
For homeowners
- How much does it cost to post?
- Posting is free. You only fund the job amount you set when you post, and it's fully refunded if the job is cancelled before it starts.
- How do I know a worker is legit?
- Every worker has a linked, approved parent and a rating from previous jobs. You pick from a shortlist you approve.
- What if I'm not satisfied?
- Don't release payment. Open a support ticket from the job page and we'll help resolve it fairly.
Safety
- How is my address protected?
- Your street address is never shown until you confirm a worker for a job. Only the neighborhood is visible before that.
- What if something feels off?
- Tap Report a Concern from any page. Our safety team responds fast.
